On Tuesday, September 21st, a special “Pilgrimage of Remembrance” was presented by Brenda Fredrickson of Elrose Legion Branch #206. In July of 2009, Brenda, along with several other members from across Canada, toured the battlefields and cemeteries of W.W. I and W.W. II through France, Belgium and Holland. Her power point presentation moved many children, adults and veterans, as she told of her trip to students and staff at T.D. Michel Community School, Big River Community High School and in the evening to the community at Big River Legion Hall. Big River Branch and schools would first like to thank Brenda for her excellent presentation. Thanks also to President Phil Devonshire for being a gracious host, and special thanks to Branch Members Laurie and Art Archibald for volunteering ‘Morning Mist’, the finest of accommodations. Brenda also was thankful for the opportunity to display her ‘Pilgrimage’ at Big River, Debden, Canwood, Shellbrook, Leask and Blaine Lake.
